You know how it goes: a glass of red wine tips over, oil from the grill drips onto the table – on untreated concrete it would leave a stain. With AKEMI Nano Effect the liquid does not soak in; it stays on the surface as droplets and you simply wipe it away.

Water, frost and stains stand no chance

GFRC concrete is strong and durable, but like all concrete it has fine pores that liquids soak into. AKEMI Nano Effect protects them from within: it leaves no film or shine on the surface, the concrete stays breathable and its colour deepens only slightly, if at all.

You see the result straight away – water beads up in the so-called lotus effect, and wine, oil or grease do not get the chance to soak in. The treatment is UV resistant and, once cured, harmless in contact with food. Your table looks just as natural as before – it is simply much easier to look after.

How to apply it

First clean the surface, for example with AKEMI Stone Cleaner, and let it dry completely for 1 – 2 days. Apply at 10 – 30 °C in one or two coats, wet on wet, and wipe off any excess after about 20 minutes.

The protection starts to build within minutes and reaches full strength after 2 – 3 hours. If the table will be used for food, let it air for 2 – 3 days before dining.

Care and cleaning

How often

The manufacturer recommends renewing the treatment once a year on heavily used surfaces. A table that stands outside in the sun and rain has a harder life – so we recommend applying it 3 – 4 times a year.

The treatment is not meant for glazed or non-absorbent surfaces; porcelain tops only need wiping.
