Cleaning and Maintenance

A Guide to Caring for Your Fire Pit

Enjoy the atmosphere, not the work. ELEMENTI gas fire pits are designed for a worry-free life. No sweeping ash, no soot – just pure joy from the fire. However, to ensure your table looks like new even after years and becomes a legacy of your patio, we have prepared a few simple tips for you.

Safety First

Before any maintenance, ensure that:

  • The fire is out and the gas valve is closed.
  • The fire pit has completely cooled down (wait at least 30 minutes after turning off).
  • The gas bottle is closed and disconnected.

Important Warning: Never extinguish the fire with water! A sudden change in temperature (thermal shock) could irreversibly damage the burner or the ceramic/concrete structure.

Cleaning the Burner and Filler

To keep the flame beautiful and clean, it's good to check the heart of the table occasionally.

  • Fire Pit Media: If the lava rock or Fireglass seems dusty, simply remove it, rinse it with lukewarm water, and let it dry completely before putting it back.
  • Burner: Check that the vents and nozzles are not clogged (dust, insects, leaves). You can use a soft brush or a vacuum cleaner for gentle cleaning.
  • Wind Guard: Clean the glass with a standard window cleaner to enjoy an undisturbed view of the flames.

Caring for the Table Body (GFRC Concrete)

The surface of our tables is durable but deserves gentle handling.

  • Regular Cleaning: Use warm water, mild soap, and a soft cloth. Avoid aggressive chemicals, solvents, or rough brushes that could damage the finish.
  • Stain Protection (Impregnation): Concrete is a porous material. To prevent stains from spilled wine, coffee, or grease, we recommend applying a Nano concrete sealer (we recommend the AKEMI brand) 1–2 times a year. It creates an invisible shield that repels liquids and dirt.

Weather Protection

Although ELEMENTI tables are made for the outdoors, they don't like extreme conditions.

  • Protective Cover: When not using the fire pit, always cover it with the canvas protective cover (included in the package). It protects against UV radiation, rain, and dirt. Note: The cover serves as a sacrificial shield for your table. In extreme conditions (intense summer sun, severe frost, or salty coastal air), it may experience accelerated aging or fading. This is a natural wear and tear process not covered by the warranty.
  • Stainless Steel Lid: If you have one, use it. It turns the fire pit into a table and prevents leaves or rain from falling into the burner.
  • Winter: If possible, store the fire pit in a dry place for the winter. If it stays outside, ensure it is perfectly dry and covered.

Maintenance FAQ:

  • What if the burner won't light? Moisture after rain or insects (spiders) nesting in the nozzles are often to blame. Try blowing out the burner with compressed air or letting it dry thoroughly in the sun.
  • Should I replace the lava rocks? Lava rock is natural and may weather slightly over time. For an "eternal" and dust-free alternative, we recommend switching to decorative Fireglass.
