Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Everything You Need to Know About Elementi Tables
Have questions? We have answers. We have prepared an overview of the most common queries to ensure that choosing an Elementi fire pit is the best decision for your patio.
Fire, Heat, and Atmosphere
Q: Does a gas fire pit really provide heat, or is it just for show?
A: This is the most common myth. Our tables aren't just for looking at. With an output of up to 16 kW, they are comparable to, and often more powerful than, traditional wood-burning fireplaces. They provide noticeable radiant heat that keeps you warm even during chilly autumn evenings. This is several times more power than bioethanol fireplaces.
Q: What is the gas consumption? How long does one bottle last?
A: Consumption depends on how high you set the flame. At maximum power, it's about 800–900 g of gas per hour. In practice, this means a standard 10 kg gas bottle will last you 10 to 20 hours of burning with normal use. That's plenty of beautiful evenings on a single fill.
Q: What gas and bottles should I use?
A: We recommend using pure propane. Unlike butane, it doesn't freeze even in low temperatures, burns cleaner, has a higher calorific value, and doesn't smell. Bottles are commonly available (same as for grills). Most of our tables connect to an external bottle, while models like Porvoo or Pompei hide it directly inside the body.
Q: Is the operation noisy?
A: Quite the opposite. Elementi gas fire pits are designed so you only hear the pleasant "hissing" of the burner, reminiscent of a real fire, and the wind in the trees. No fan noise or crackling to disturb your conversation.
Durability, Material, and Placement
Q: Can I leave the table outside all year? What if it rains?
A: Yes, Elementi tables are made for the outdoors. They are fully resistant to rain, frost, and UV radiation. Plus, every package includes a custom-fit protective cover, which you can simply put over the table when not in use to keep it clean and dry.
Q: What are the tables actually made of?
A: The secret is GFRC (Glass Fiber Reinforced Concrete). This makes them look like solid stone or concrete, extremely durable and strong, yet significantly lighter, making them manageable to move.
Q: Can I place the table under a roof or in a conservatory?
A: Certainly. Since the fire pit produces no flying sparks or smoke, it is safe to place under wooden pergolas, fabric awnings, or in gazebos. The only condition is that the space must be open or well-ventilated (at least 25% open wall area).
Q: What about indoors?
A: Although the burning is clean, it is a high-power appliance with high oxygen consumption. Therefore, our tables are certified exclusively for outdoor use and are not recommended for closed interiors for safety reasons.
Installation and Practical Questions
Q: Does the table come disassembled? Is assembly difficult?
A: We have good news. The vast majority of our tables arrive already assembled in one piece. You just unpack it, place it where you want, pour in the decorative filler, and connect the hose to the bottle. No hours spent with a screwdriver!
Q: What is included in the package?
A: Everything for an immediate start. The package contains the table itself, a 3-meter gas hose with a regulator, fire pit filler (lava rock for Elementi/Modeno lines or luxury Fireglass for Elementi Plus), a protective cover, and an ignition battery.
Q: The hose is 3 meters long. What if I want to hide it or need a longer one?
A: You can run the hose under the surface (e.g., under paving) or hide it in a conduit. If you need to bridge a longer distance, we can supply longer hoses (5, 7, or 10 meters), but we recommend the path of "least resistance" to maintain pressure.
Q: Can I grill on the fire?
A: Technically, the gas is safe (same as in a grill). Practically, however, we do not recommend it. Grease and food juices would soil the burner and porous lava rocks, leading to odors and degradation of the fire pit. Enjoy the table for drinks and atmosphere instead; leave the grilling to the grill.
Maintenance, Safety, and Accessories
Q: Is the fire pit safe for children and pets?
A: Safety is paramount. Every table is CE certified and meets strict EU standards. A key feature is the thermocouple, which immediately and automatically shuts off the gas supply if the flame is suddenly extinguished (e.g., by strong wind or water spill). Of course, the fire is hot, so we recommend extra caution with small children or using a glass wind guard.
Q: How do I care for the table?
A: It is an almost maintenance-free product. Just wipe it with a damp cloth once in a while. We recommend using a nano impregnation for concrete (e.g., AKEMI brand) 1-2 times a year to protect the surface from grease and stains.
Q: Do I need to change the fire pit filler?
A: Lava rock is a natural material and may weather slightly over years, but the loss is minimal. If you crave an "immortal" filler, we recommend decorative Fireglass, which doesn't burn out, doesn't diminish, and reflects flames beautifully.
Q: What accessories are worth buying?
A: For the perfect experience and aesthetics, we recommend a few additions. A gas bottle cover elegantly hides the tank and serves as a side table. A glass wind guard protects the flame in the wind and increases safety. When not using the fire pit, a stainless steel lid (included with some models) turns it into a smooth table and protects the burner. For the demanding, there's the aforementioned Fireglass for an even more beautiful fire effect.
